Village Design Statement
The Dunnington Village Design Statement (VDS) was written by a group of Parishioners and was published in 2006.
The VDS describes the distinctive characteristics of the Parish and provides design guidance for future developments. The document aims to ensure any such developments will be in keeping with the local character of the Parish and will also enhance the local environment.
It was formally adopted by City of York Council in 2006 as Supplementary Planning Guidance.
All planning applications must adhere to the guidelines and City of York Council must consider the guidance when deciding whether to approve a planning application for any development in the village. The guidelines remain in force.
